Save Face Director Ashton Collins spoke to BBC Newsround about the growing number of children and young people using skincare products containing ingredients such as retinoids and acids, which may be harmful for young skin.
As beauty trends are increasingly promoted through social media and influencer content, Ashton highlighted the importance of ensuring that children and parents can easily identify products that may not be appropriate for younger users. She also outlined Save Face’s campaign calling for clearer labelling on products that are unsuitable for under-18s, alongside stronger protections against harmful beauty advertising and content online.
